Swing is an extremely powerful option for building simple and hyper functional GUI's in Java. While not as pretty as some other Java options such as JavaFX, its ease of implementation is unmatched. 

In this lesson we will learn how to create a highly customized GUI using Swings "GridBag" layout that will let you take your future Java programs to the next level. We will discuss how the GridBag layout arranges elements, a few tips and tricks to spacing those elements, and how to set up event listeners to make your GUI function. 

This can be a pretty challenging concept at first so a decent understanding of Java is highly recommended. The lesson will be taught in eclipse running JavaSE-11, however feel free to follow along on any IDE of your choosing.
